My name is Acacia Cosentino, and I am the 4th Grade Reading teacher at Henderson Collegiate, which is a charter school in Henderson, North Carolina. I am going into my second year at the school, which is also my second year as a Teach for America corp member. Both TFA and Henderson Collegiate are on a mission to combat educational inequity and ensure that every child, regardless of their zip code, is provided an excellent education. The school has been fantastically successful in its 5 short years, transforming education in the rural area. I am proud to be a part of such an impressive organization. As we move further into the 21st century, the type of education children need is continually changing and moving toward a more technology based global education. This site is a space to explore ways to incorporate technology and this idea of a global education in the classroom in order to develop strong competent individuals who are ready to lead others toward a brighter future.
